Domestic EPC’s - SAME DAY DELIVERY
Our expertise means we understand that trying to sell or let your property can be very stressful and our experience has shown us that potential sellers/landlords need their EPC very quickly in order to speed up the transaction. Therefore, we aim to provide a same day service for all Domestic EPC’s, so you will receive your EPC complete with recommendations, within a few hours of the assessment taking place.
What is an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)?
Under a recently introduced EU Directive, all Domestic and commercial buildings (dwellings & non-dwellings) legally require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) on construction, sale or let. You may NOT market your property unless an EPC has been obtained. Failure to provide an EPC prior to marketing your property, could incur a fine of up to £5000.
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is intended to inform potential buyers or tenants about the energy performance of a building, so they can consider energy efficiency as part of their investment or business decision to buy or occupy that building.
Once an EPC has been obtained, it is valid for 10 years and is stored on a national database.
The Assessor
The person or persons carrying out the energy assessment of a dwelling legally has to have an Existing Dwellings DEA or Domestic Energy Assessor qualification.
For Non-dwellings, all persons must have an NDEA or Commercial Energy Assessor qualification to a level 3, 4 or 5 and must be accredited through a government approved accreditation scheme.
Each assessor is allocated an individual photo ID card and accreditation number which can be found on the national register.
